I’ve been playing with a few techniques & supplies over the last two weeks. The most successful bits were combined with a few new stamps to make this card.
LUNA LIGHTS BACKGROUND: For this effect, you will need two sheets of paper of the same size. Start by dripping small dots of Luna Light paint on the page. Lay the second sheet of paper on top of the first & carefully spread out the paint between the sheets of paper. You can use a brayer or even just your fingers for this part, whatever you feel comfortable doing. Once the paint is evenly spread out, pull the two sheets of paper apart diagonally (starting at a corner & pulling toward the opposite corner).
Luna Lights has the best shine when used on a coated paper, but I did this on sheets of printable transparency. The transparency was glued to the card (paint-side down) with Glossy Accents.
DISTRESS STAIN RIBBON: Rub the Distress Stain on white ribbon. Scrunch the ribbon & leave it to dry for a crinkled effect.
The ribbon I used started as a 3″ wide white satin ribbon. It was cut into various widths & colored with Broken China Distress Stain; two of the pieces were scrunched up for a crinkled effect. The darkest piece of ribbon was stamped with a stitch design stamp from the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Collection Seamless Experience stamp set using Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink. The stamped ribbon was layered on another piece of ribbon & all the ribbon was glued down using Terrifically Tacky Tape.
STAMPS: The dress form stamp from Hampton Art (7 Gypsies Collection) was stamped onto a glossy glitter paper with Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink. The paper’s texture prevented a perfect impression from the stamp, but it’s still beautiful. The dress form & shadow layer were cut out by hand. Using an ink applicator tool, Dusty Concord Distress Ink was added to the shadow layer. The shadow layer was glued to the card & foam dots were used to pop up the dress form.
The sentiment on the front of the card is from Hampton Art (Graphic 45 Collection) & was stamped using Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink.
The sentiment inside the card was stamped with Jet Black Rangers Archival Ink & is from the Close To My Heart (D1510) 4 My Friend stamp set. To get the slightly smudged effect, the card was placed on a foam mat before stamping. To me, it continued the vintage feel inside the card.
